In memory of Michael J. Jaminet |

PALM BEACH, FL – September 14, 2011 – Capitalizing on her unique birth date, Palm Beach resident Michelle Jaminet took advantage of the once-in-a-century consecutive date of 9.10.11 to celebrate with a private birthday party at the home of Linnette and Robert Miller, which also benefited The Shutterbug Foundation. Invited guests were asked in lieu of birthday presents to kindly make a donation to The Shutterbug Foundation, a charitable organization established in memory of Michael J. Jaminet, Michelle's brother and photographer, who died from a brain tumor at the very young age of 44.
As the more than 100 guests donned in black and white attire entered the Miller's foyer, they were serenaded by acclaimed pianist Paul Reekie at a baby grand piano and had their photograph taken by photographer Molly McCann. Each guest received a teal silk flower - the charity's logo color - to wear either as a boutonnière, hair barrette or brooch – all of which were hand-made and donated by Susan Jaminet, the Shutterbug Foundation's Vice President and sister of the guest of honor.
Guests mingled on the loggia and in the courtyard under the moonlight, while enjoying beverages and "dinner by the bite" which was provided by SandyJames Fine Food. Additionally, all guests participated in an M&M's® candies guessing contest, raffle and silent auction. Mo & Sally from KOOL 105.5 thanked the guests for their support and attendance and initiated singing "Happy Birthday" to Michelle. "I am very moved to have all of these friends and colleagues support our cause," said Michelle Jaminet. "Furthermore," she added, "I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our hosts, the Millers, and everyone who donated their goods and services to make the evening so very special."
As the guests departed the event, they received their framed photo and gift bags which contained custom-made dark chocolates in the shape of a camera, an American Brain Tumor Association support bracelet and a beautiful gold, enameled bracelet donated by the Sequin boutique in Palm Beach.
We exceeded our goal and raised more than $5,500! However, if you're so inclined to do so, please make a small donation to help us get to $6,000. Any size donation is greatly appreciated - it all adds up!
Proceeds generated from the birthday party will be disseminated to the Cleveland Clinic Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center, as well as the Michael J. Jaminet Memorial Scholarship at Kent State University. The Foundation reported a 94% cost efficiency factor for the event because everything – all printing, the valet parking, food and beverage, entertainment, photography, gift bags and raffle items – had been donated and provided to the Foundation free-of-charge. Corporate partners included ARC Printing, The Barefoot Art Studio, The Breakers, Deck 84, Jordann Jewelry, the Mar-a-Lago Club, Olsavksy Jaminet Architects, Onshore Construction & Development, Fantastic Finishes, Molly McCann Photography, Paul Reekie, Preferred Parking Solutions, SandyJames Fine Food, Sequin (Palm Beach), and Tiffany & Co.

For your support, generosity and friendships!
